News from the Swiss Yodel Choir Matterhorn

After a one year pause, the Swiss National Day Celebration at Gembrook was again held on Sunday, 5 August 2012 and proved to be very popular, despite the wintry weather conditions – luckily the rain held off until the official part had been completed.

Young and old people with Swiss connections took the opportunity to catch up with friends and to enjoy some Swiss specialities. Many thanks to everybody who contributed to making this function a success!

On that day we also heard the sad news that Fritz Hochuli had passed away. Fritz was a great supporter of the Matterhorn Society and Yodel Choir, and we always enjoyed having him in our midst at functions and ‘Jassabigs’. Fritz’s friendly face will be sadly missed but we will keep very fond memories of him!

On the Cup-weekend (3rd & 4th November 2012) the Choir will again participate in the Swiss & Italian Festa in Hepburn Springs and Daylesford, and on 18 of November we will join the other groups to provide Sunday entertainment for the elderly residents of the Tabulam & Templer and Martin Luther Homes.

The Choir is still rebuilding and we would welcome new singers

    Dear Hans
Thank you very much for your comment, and apologies for the delay in our response. The passing of Marco is indeed very sad and we are still coming to terms with the large void he leaves behind.
The article has now been amended accordingly and we appreciate your input.
