Nyon Porcelain Painting by Beatrice Delacretaz

profile picBeatrice Delacretaz, a honorary life member of the Swiss Club, is well known among members. Beatrice is a lady of many talents and an accomplished artist. We have the privilege of Beatrice participating in our Swiss National Day Art & Craft Exhibition on the Second Floor during our Swiss National Day Festival on 1 August.

Beatrice specializes in Nyon Porcelain Painting.

The Nyon Porcelain factory was founded in 1781 by Jacques Dortu and Ferdinand Muller in the small town of Nyon, located on the shore of lake Geneva.

While the factory closed down again after only 30 years (1781 to 1813), the quality and beauty of the porcelain left a great impact for the history and posterity of china painting in Italy, France, Spain and Russia, but especially in Switzerland where the traditional designs and techniques are still alive today right here in Melbourne.

One day only, on Saturday, 1 August 2015, can you enjoy this beautiful and delicate art of Nyon Porcelain Painting from 11.30 am – 4.30 pm.
